GMTM has developed excellent offshore sources to build mold bases that meet the demanding requirements of the North American market.
Some casting shops use GMTM for replacement mold bases over the long term or for duplicate tool builds. When field failure is experienced, GMTM can be a cost effective approach to replace a damaged mold base when the OEM is not paying for the replacement.
Some Tool & Die shops use GMTM to increase their total shop capacity. Others use GMTM to level off their production cycles, increasing orders when they are busy and reducing orders to keep their shop busy during the slower production cycles. This option is ideal for the shop that wants to build the critical components in house, but does not have a boring mill to machine a mold base.
